Who We Are.
The Period Project is an initiative in Athens, OH dedicated to providing period products to women in poverty and starting a conversation about menstrual health.
Our mission is to provide local shelters with feminine products and train communities of women in poverty on women's health. We want to promote a society that openly discusses menstruation, and ensures that all women, everywhere, can have easy access to necessary items like pads, tampons and menstrual cups.
The Committee of Charitable Initiatives heads these initiatives, and believes that those in poverty should not have to sacrifice their menstrual health and access to necessary period products in favor of food, rent and other necessities.
The Committee of Legislative Initiatives advocates for better accessibility and an end to taxation on period products for everyone who menstruates in the United States.
The Outreach Committee is committed to raising awareness and educating the public on topics such as the female body and menstruation.
